Trusted Experience

Buying a home can be very exciting, but also quite intimidating. You need someone in your corner who understands houses and building science who can explain things clearly.

My goal for every
inspection is simple:

I want you to be able to see and understand a house through my trained eyes. I complete every inspection very systematically, using a proven process I have tailored to my style over the years.

Proven Process

A big part of my process is to talk you through the house as we go. I explain what I see and answer any questions that come up. If something needs discussing, we discuss it. My clarity and candor has earned me the trust and respect of many clients.

The typical home inspection takes about 2½ to 3½ hours, depending on the home’s ancillary features like decks, garages, multiple HVAC systems, and so on. I encourage all of my clients to follow me throughout the inspection process and to ask questions, so dress comfortably.

I’ll perform a visual inspection, looking for structural and safety conditions on the inside and outside of the dwelling, covering all levels of the home, including the roof. I’ll also inspect the electrical and mechanical systems of the home, such as wiring, including the main electrical panel, as well as plumbing, heating and cooling systems, and hot water tank.

My written reports are presented in a color-coded narrative format and include a summary and pictures. Unless there are extenuating circumstances, I will email finished report PDF format by the next day. My inspections are narrative and almost everything I talk about in person will be in the report – but feel free to take notes.

If you have questions after the home inspection, I provide all clients with phone, text, and email consultation, free of charge, for life!
